What is Jerome Flynn's new TV role?

As Game of Thrones comes to an end, Jerome has bagged another big role.

In April 2019 it was reported he will play a cowboy in the Amazon TV dramatisation of Stephen King’s seven-book Dark Tower series.

The show, from former Walking Dead producer Glen Mazzara, aims to turn back the clock to explore Gunslinger Roland Deschain's origin story, taking place years before what we saw in the movie as it chronicles his first conflict with the Man in Black, his first love and his first mission.

What is Jerome Flynn's background?

Jerome, 56, was born in Bromley, Kent and is known for his numerous TV and film appearances.

Acting is clearly in his genes because his parents are actor and singer Eric and drama teacher Fern.

Flynn's brother Daniel and half-brother Johnny are also known in the world of show-business.

He was was once in a relationship with Game of Thrones co-star Lena Headey - however, the relationship ended on bad terms resulting in the couple's being kept apart on-set.

What TV shows and films has Jerome Flynn been in?

Jerome's first noteworthy acting role was in LWT TV film London's Burning.

After playing firefighter Kenny 'Rambo' Baines in the show, he depicted Freddie in The Fear, an ITV drama.

Flynn played Paddy Garvey in Soldier Soldier for four years and the actor took some time out of his career, before being roped into HBO's Game of Thrones in 2010, playing Bronn.

He's also appeared in Black Mirror, Tommy Zoom and Badger.

When did Jerome Flynn have a singing career?

Flynn formed a singing partnership with fellow Soldier Soldier cast mate Robson Green in the mid 1990s, known as Robson & Jerome.

They duo performed Unchained Melody in Soldier Soldier in 1995, which went on to break the UK Singles Charts.

Impressively, the hit managed to cling on to the No.1 spot for seven weeks and was the best-selling track of the year.

They had two further number one singles as well as two number one studio albums as well as releasing a couple of compilation albums.
