Who is MyAnna Buring? What is her background

MyAnna Buring was born in Sweden on September 22, 1979 and grew up in the Middle East.

Wanting to train as an actor, MyAnna moved to London at the age of 16 and soon graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

She is best known for starring in Ripper Street and has played Long Susan since the series began in 2012.

MyAnna now lives in North London and recently gave birth to a son.

MyAnna Buring has landed her grittiest role to date in the BBC's latest crime drama, In The Dark. An adaptation of the best-selling crime novels In The Dark and Time of Death by Mark Billingham.

She plays DI Helen Weeks, "a headstrong, no nonsense cop" who is caught up in two of the most intense and challenging cases of her career, just as she discovers she's pregnant.

The four-part drama will see DI Helen Weeks come up against murder and abduction.

MyAnna has juggled Hollywood blockbusters and TV dramas throughout her career.

The actress, 37, gained international prominence when she starred in two of the Twilight saga films.

She appeared in Breaking Dawn Part I and Part II where she played Tanya, a "vegetarian" vampire who is friends with the Cullens.

MyAnna's other screen credits include Downton Abbey, Banished, Doctor Who and Ripper Street.

When did Ripper Street start on BBC?

The fifth season of the Amazon Prime show returned to BBC Two on June 19.

The show is set in Whitechapel in the East End of London and was set in 1889, six months after the infamous Jack the Ripper murders.

Ripper Street launched in 2012 and has since gained a loyal following.
