Who are Foo Fighters? What is their background?

Foo Fighters is an American rock band, formed in Seattle, Washington in 1994.

They are fronted by legendary rocker Dave Grohl.

The other members include Pat Smear (rhythm and lead guitar), Nate Mendel (bass), and Taylor Hawkins (drums, percussion, backing vocals).

Also, Chris Shiflett is a lead guitarist and provides backing vocals while Rami Jaffee is in charge of the keyboards.

What is the Foo Fighters connection to Nirvana?

Lead singer Dave Grohl was a founding member of the 90s grunge band Nirvana.

He played for the drums for the Smells Like Teen Spirit band.

He founded the Foo Fighters after the suicide of lead singer Kurt Cobain, which caused the group to disband.

The Foo Fighters won the award for Best International Group at the 2018 Brit Awards.

The band beat out the likes of Arcade Fire, HAIM, The Killers and LCD Soundsystem.

What festivals are they headlining this summer?

Fans will be excited to hear that the Foo Fighters has revealed that it will headline two festivals this summer.

They will be on stage at the Reading and Leeds Festival during the 2019 August bank holiday weekend.

Right before that, on August 17, they will also headline the Glasgow Summer Sessions 2019.
