Kendall Jenner pulls T-shirt collection featuring dead music icons after Notorious BIG’s mum threatens to sue
Model and sister Kylie issue apology after Biggie's mum and Sharon Osbourne blast them for 'exploitative' tee designs
KENDALL Jenner has pulled her new T-shirt collection, featuring her own face superimposed over dead music icons - after Notorious BIG's mum threatened to sue her.
The 21-year-old was roundly criticised by families of the rappers and rockers whose image she took for the collection, forcing her to admit the designs were "not well thought out".
The major gaffe comes less than three months after Kendall's Pepsi ad embarrassment saw her mocked globally.
But this time around she was brought head-to-head with none other than Voletta Wallace, the mother of iconic rapper Notorious BIG, who called "the shirts exploitation at its worst".
Kendall and 19-year-old sister Kylie, who also features on the T-shirts, issued a joint apology on Twitter.
They wrote: "These designs were not well thought out and we deeply apologise to anyone that has been upset and/or offended, especially to the families of the artists.
"We are huge fans of their music and it was not our intention to disrespect these cultural icons in any way.
"The tee shirts have been pulled from retail and all images have been removed.
"We will use this as an opportunity to learn from these mistakes and again, we are very sorry," they added.
It seemed to be a necessary response following the vitriolic reaction of Ms Wallace, the mother of murdered rapper Notorious BIG, real name Christopher George Latore Wallace, who would have turned 45 last month.
She blasted on Instagram: "I am not sure who told @kyliejenner and @kendalljenner that they had the right to do this,” she captioned an Instagram post of the items.
“The disrespect of these girls to not even reach out to me or anyone connected to the estate baffles me.
"I have no idea why they feel they can exploit the deaths of 2pac and my Son Christopher to sell a t-shirt. This is disrespectful, disgusting, and exploitation at its worst!!!"
Sassy Sharon Osbourne was also not happy with a t-shirt featuring her husband Ozzy's image.
She tweeted: "Girls, you haven’t earned the right to put your face with musical icons. Stick to what you know…lip gloss."
Other stars included on the T-shirts were murdered rap star Tupac Shakur, and the rock bands KISS, The Doors, Metallica and Pink Floyd.
Earlier this week, Kendall wowed as she flashed her abs in an elegant crop top for a family dinner in Los Angeles.
Donning a white feathered crop top, Kendall completed her look with denim jeans and hot pink stilettos.
Kendall, 21, creates a media firestorm wherever she goes and her recent night out was no exception.
As she made her way into the glitzy celeb hangout, Kendall was mobbed by selfie-hunting fans and admirers.
Kendall was joined by Kylie for a pre-party dinner and brought a touch of colour to the glamorous evening in a multi-coloured sequinned mini-dress.
She arrived on the arm of model pal, Jordyn Woods, who has built up an Instagram following of her own after befriending the Jenner family.
