Former Love Island contestant claims girls on the show feel ‘under intolerable pressure to have sex’
The reality stars have an endless supply of condoms in the villa
A FORMER Love Island star claims girls on the show feel under enormous pressure to have sex.
The reality star, who wanted to remain anonymous, told the Daily Mirror that contestants felt more likely to have success if they slept with someone on the programme.
They told the publication: “There are condoms everywhere in the house and many of the girls feel under intolerable pressure to have sex.
“The message some of the girls take from it is clear – we want you to have sex.”
“Many of the girls feel that if they have sex, they get more airtime and therefore are a more attractive proposition to the celebrity agents. The whole thing is really tawdry.”
A show spokesman denied the claims, saying: "The islanders are not put under any pressure to be intimate with one another, this is simply not true."
Contestants are provided with an unlimited supply of condoms in the villa, with producers keen to promote safe sex.
So far this series Jess Shears and Dom Lever and Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies are the only two pairing to have had sex.
In last year's series former Miss Great Britain Zara Holland was controversially stripped of her title when she slept with Alex Bowen on live TV.
Following her eviction from the house, Jess spilled the beans on her romp with Dom.
She told the : “Sex with Dom was mind-blowing. I vowed never to have sex on TV but within minutes of being in the private Hideaway room together we were naked.
“I was worried it would be quite short and sweet, but it was long and really good.”
Jessica and Dom got intimate on camera during their time together in the villa, and Dom was distraught when his partner left the show after being voted off.
The 24-year-old described how strong their sexual chemistry was, saying: “We couldn’t resist each other. Everything he does is a total turn-on.
“I thought we wouldn’t be able to relax and enjoy it but honestly as soon as we got into the Hideaway we forgot the cameras were there and only had eyes for each other.
“He was very sweet in bed, I’ve not felt passion like that before. He’s obsessed with my boobs and bum."
