Amanda Holden reveals she wants a Carry On reboot so she can achieve her dream of starring in one of the films

AMANDA Holden has admitted she would love to star in a reboot of the Carry One films.

The Britain's Got Talent judge revealed it is still her dream as an actress to play part in an future revival of the iconic British comedies.

Amanda, 46, told the : “People always say I should have been in the Carry On films. I just hope I haven’t missed my chance to star in one.

“I don’t see why I couldn’t do it. It’s one of the only ambitions I have left.”

The popular film series included hits such as Carry On Camping and Carry On Up The Khyber.

Hitting screens between 1958 and 1992, the films featured unforgettable scenes such as Barbara Winder's bra flying off during a gym session in Carry on Camping.

The series also helped the likes of Sid James, Kenneth Williams to become household names.

A source told the paper: “Amanda is keen to get back into comedy. She loves the British sense of humour so doing a Carry On film would be perfect."

"They’d be mad not to snap her up. She loves sticking an innuendo in.”

Amanda isn't the only one eager to see the films rebooted as fans were whipped into a frenzy when it was hinted that the series would be making a cinematic comeback.

Reports in May 2016 claimed the films would be given a 21st century makeover after producer Jonathan Sothcott said there were plans for new flicks.

It was believed that Carry On Doctors and Carry on Campus would be written by Tim Dawson and Susan Nickson - the pair who created Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps.

But earlier this year Jonathan revealed that nothing was in the pipeline.

Plans to revive the series a few years ago with the movie Carry On London also came to a halt after the death of series creator Peter Rogers in 2009.
