Love Island shock as Dom Lever gets sent home after Montana couples up with new boy Alex
LOVE Island's Dominic Lever was sent home in a shock twist after Montana Brown chose to couple up with new boy Alex.
Tonight's episode saw a recoupling where the girls had to choose whether to stick with their current partners or go with one of the new boys.
The “stick or twist” situation meant the islanders would be safe if they both recouple but Dom was sent home after Montana chose Alex Beattie while he stayed loyal to her.
In a cruel twist Dom walked in on his own and Caroline Flack broke the news that he's been evicted from the island.
Dom said he didn't want to risk picking someone new and sending Montana home "after she'd been there from day one".
He continued: "I made the right decision, I was down there thinking do I take a risk in bringing a girl up here and possibly lose Montana.
"Or do I take the risk coming up here knowing that if she's met someone, I get to stand aside and go home to see the girl I love.
"So I'm over the moon. It's been the best experience of my life."
Jess and Dom have plenty to talk about after he discovered she'd slept with Mike Thalassitis just hours after leaving the villa.
Speaking about his "stand out" memory on the show, he said: "So many memories but it would either have to be spending the night in the Hideaway with Jess for her birthday or the morning after, when me and Kem both found out that we’d had sex in the same night."
He continued: "I was pleased with myself because you’ve seen Jess - I’ve pulled an absolute worldie! It was never something I intended to do, it was never my goal to go in there and have sex first.
"It wasn’t even my goal to go in there and have sex. It was my goal to meet someone and fortunately I did it all."
Dom has since told the Sun Online that he'll DITCH Jess if she admits to her romp with Mike but also admitted he planned to propose if things worked out between them.
After Jess left the villa, Dom didn't hook up with anyone else but says he's glad he remained loyal, even if Jess didn't.
He explained: "I stayed loyal to the girl because I had very strong feelings for her. I don’t think it’s ever been done before on Love Island, someone leaving and then someone staying loyal and I suppose it’s my stubborn side coming out as well as my loyal side.
"She told me she loved before she left and I feel like I should have said it but I didn’t think it was the right time. But yes, I love the girl and I genuinely can’t wait to see her.
"It’s going to be a big moment. That is my main priority, to see her and finally air things out."
Meanwhile, Dom wasn't the only one to get the boot as newbies Rob, Amelia, Marino, Steve, Elisha-Jade and Shannen were also sent home after no one chose to couple up with them.
The recoupling also saw Camilla choose new boy Craig over Jonny.
But he remained in the villa after choosing to couple up with Page 3 model Danielle.
Amber, who was left in tears after seeing a picture of Kem kissing new girl Chyna, also chose to dump him and recoupled with Nathan.
Kem then arrived into the villa with Chyna on his arm much to the group's shock.
Despite getting a shock at the incriminating pictures from Casa Amore, Gabby and Marcel also chose to stick together as did Olivia and Chris.
- Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2
