Dumped Love Island stars Rob Lipsett and Shannen Reilly McGrath hook up after leaving the show

Love Island's Rob Lipsett and Shannen Reilly McGrath have got close after they exited the villa on Sunday's episode

LOVE Island star Rob Lipsett has managed to hook up with a fellow star - but waited until they were outside of the villa to do it.

The dumped islander has got close to fellow Irish resident Shannen Reilly McGrath since they were axed from the show during Sunday night’s episode.

They were not in it for long but it seems they have had a chance to get to know each other outside the villa – with entrepreneur Rob, 25, uploading a picture of the pair with their hands on their legs.

He told the Sun’s Bizarre column in an exclusive chat they got on really well at lock-down, which is when the contestants meet before and after entering the villa.

A new group of girls, which included dental nurse Shannen, 23, were put into a separate house where the boys had been sent to.

And Rob, along with four other lads, was put into the normal villa after the girls were split from their male partners.

He denied the two of them were in a relationship but says they both admitted they would have coupled up were they in the same place and will start to see each other.

And in his post on Twitter and Instagram, he declared he was not leaving the show "empty handed”.

Rob told us: “We met in lockdown after we left the show and got along really well.

“We’ve only known each other for two days seeing as she was in the boys villa while I was in the main villa.

“We said if we were both in the same villa we would have coupled up.

“We're not in a relationship as we've just met but we are both from Dublin so we will most likely see each other around.”

The pair exited the ITV2 show on Sunday’s episode along with Dominic Lever, who was in the current series since day one, along with newbies Ellisha-Jade White, Amelia Peters, Marino Katsouris and Steve Ball.
