Love Island stars are given 200 cigarettes PER DAY and even non-smokers are given them ‘on mass supply’
Dumped islander Craig Lawson revealed contestants are driven to smoking out of boredom
LOVE Island stars are provided with 200 cigarettes per day and even non-smokers are given an allowance – despite viewers complaining to Ofcom about the level of smoking shown on-screen.
Dumped islander Craig Lawson, 27, revealed the villa is well stocked with a constant supply of fags and contestants are driven to smoking out of boredom.
Viewers voiced their upset over seeing contestants chain-smoke on the show this week as 24 complaints were made to Ofcom.
And now Craig has confirmed that every islander is given at least 20 cigarettes a day by producers, and admits smoking is “excessive” in the villa.
In an exclusive interview he said: “The show normally provides 20 fags a day per person – so five people equates to 100 cigarettes.
“Fags are on mass supply. But if you get through your daily allowance then you won’t be given anymore – no one should be smoking more than 20 a day; that’s a lot of fags.
“Some people smoke quite excessively in the villa. I’m a non-smoker but I would still get a supply.
“You get so bored when you’re in there – that’s why you see so many people smoking. There’s only so much you can talk about your life.”

Fans on social media have also noticed the amount of smoking which is aired on the reality show.
Scott Simmons tweeted: "On the application for the show is there a section dedicated for smoking? Can't believe how many smoke. Why?"
Carys Walker also joked: "Love Island sponsored by Lambert & Butler again this year! Glamourising smoking."
ITV bosses were forced to defend showing smoking this week, saying scenes where contestants are seen puffing on cigarettes are only included if they are “having conversations which we believe to be editorially important to the narrative of the show.”
But while islanders have enough fags to last all summer – sweet treats come in small supply.
Craig added: “If we’re good we get some chocolate and sweets.
“Normally we get given treats when there’s a recoupling or an event is happening – they know they’re about to shoot us down so they put some chocolate in to sweeten us up.”
The former islander was dumped from the villa earlier this week after being voted off by his fellow co-stars.
