Caroline Flack accidentally lets slip on live TV that the £50K Love Island prize is changing this year

LOVE Island host Caroline Flack accidentally let slip this morning that the show’s prize could change this year.

Caroline appeared on Sunday Brunch to discuss the show that has the nation hooked, when the subject of the £50,000 prize money came up.

“Is there a prize?” asked Tim Lovejoy.

“There is £50,000 that they share,” replied Caroline.

However when Tim asked how the couple share the cash, Caroline revealed that there’s going to be a change from the show’s traditional format.

Caroline continued: “If you saw it last year it gets to a point where you can, erm, actually it might change this year so…”

And as the presenter realised she had probably said too much, Tim and Simon Rimmer cheered that they had an exclusive and newspapers would be going mad…

Trying to divert attention away from the huge revelation, Caroline continued: “Naturally we’re just nosy aren’t we? We care about other people’s relationships.”

While the big prize has changed now in the past the £50K is usually  given to the winning couple, as voted for by the public.

However, there is a big catch because if one of the winning pair opts NOT to share the cash, they get to keep it for themselves, leaving the other with nothing.

Last year Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey won and shared the money between them, but their romance ended earlier this year.

A spokesperson for Love Island told The Sun Online: "We would reveal any format twist to the viewers in due course."
