How many episodes are left and is it the last season of the HBO hit?

Season eight is the last series of HBO's Game of Thrones.

The eighth run of the show kicked off on April 15, 2019 and concludes on May 20, 2019.

This means that there's only one episode left - the final episode.

There are a total of six episodes, making it the shortest season of the franchise.

How many series of Game of Thrones are there?

So far there have been seven series of Game Of Thrones.

The upcoming series, season eight, will be the last.

The show is based on the books written by George R.R. Martin.

It first aired in 2011 on HBO.

When is the final series of Game Of Thrones out?

The eighth and final series of Game Of Thrones aired six weeks ago.

The series was be the shortest yet with just six episodes - following from the seven episodes in series seven.

Although the show may be coming to an end, the creator George R.R. Martin revealed he would have liked the show to continue for several more years.

“We could’ve gone 11, 12, 13 seasons," he told “David and Dan have been saying for like five seasons that seven seasons is all they would go. We got them to go to eight but not any more than that.

"There was a period like five years ago when they were saying seven seasons and I was saying 10 seasons and they won, they’re the ones actually working on it.”

 

Will there be a Game Of Thrones prequel series?

A spin-off prequel series of Game Of Thrones is set to be released following season eight.

It will be called The Long Night and is being developed by British filmmaker Jane Goldman alongside the author of the original series, George R.R. Martin.

So far only two cast members have been confirmed - Josh Whitehouse and Naomi Watts.

According to HBO, the series will chronicle "the world's descent from the Golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour"
