Mystery after Love Island star Jonny Mitchell claims someone hacked his Instagram account and posted pictures of him flaunting his fake wealth
The recently axed star's Instagram disappeared shortly after he was dumped from the villa
LOVE Island star Jonny Mitchell has told close friends his Instagram was hacked and had to be deleted.
The dumped islander’s account, as well as his Twitter, disappeared shortly after he left the show on Tuesday.
His absence on social media sparked concern that he had got fed up with the torrent of criticism over his time in the villa.
It came after his treatment of Camilla Thurlow, 27, when he went from her to Tyla Carr, 24, as well as his fallout with the latter.
And the head of Women’s Aid slammed him for his treatment of Tyla, in particular his remark that rival Theo Campbell, 25, would have to prise her from his “cold dead hands.”
Essex-lad Jonny’s Instagram drew attention due to his apparent flashy lifestyle with posts of posh nosh and an expensive car and watch.
He appeared to be a millionaire but he later turned out to be a “fake.”
A source told the Sun’s Bizarre column his account was shut down because it was hacked.
They said: “It got hacked and he didn’t have a clue what was happening.
“So Instagram blocked it. That's what he's been telling mates anyway.
“Obviously he was a little overwhelmed by the amount of scrutiny on him as well as the criticism, so it’s come at a good time.
“I think he just wants to go into hiding until Tyla comes out and it’s all blown over.”
MORE FROM THE VILLA
Upon exiting the villa, Jonny, 26, denied he was a millionaire and insisted he hasn’t “worked for over a year”.
He shrugged off the criticism from Women’s Aid CEO Polly Neate saying he wasn’t bothered.
A representative for Jonny confirmed he had been hacked.
