JAMES "Arg" Argent has finally met his telly hero Adam Woodyatt, aka EastEnders' Ian Beale - after memorably describing himself as the Ian Beale of Towie.

Arg, 29, grabbed a snap with Adam, 49 - who has starred as Ian for over 32 years - while attending the wedding of Enders' Jacqueline Jossa and Towie's Dan Osborne.

The starstruck Essex lad - who is returning to Towie after beating his demons and losing a stone - couldn't resist sidling up to the man whose many facial expressions have enthralled the nation since 1985.

With what looked like a gin and tonic in hand, Adam pulled a silly face for the camera while Arg flashed his trademark grin.

Next to their pic, the reality star wrote: "When the Ian Beale of Eastenders & the Ian Beale of @towie come together!!! lol #legend."

Reflecting on the day's events, Arg added: "What a beautiful & special #weddingday @danosborneofficial @jacjossa x."

A few years ago Arg started describing himself as the Ian Beale of Towie, to suggest he was the only show "original" who'd remained on the show since its 2010 inception.

He may have also been hinting that he isn't as much of a lady magnet as his male co-stars.

Adam is the longest-serving actor on EastEnders, having featured on the first ever episode as Cathy Beale's son, who turned out to be a very unlucky, but lovable, so-and-so.

Ian is currently in trouble as Max Branning has just been released from prison and is looking for revenge over being framed for Lucy Beale's murder.

But none of that stress was evident on Adam's face as he partied the night away with the bride - his co-star Jacqueline, 24, who plays Lauren Branning - and Arg's old friend Dan, 26 - the groom.

Before the wedding, James was pictured filming a new ad for Towie alongside many of his co-stars - including fellow "original" Marion Falcone.

Meanwhile his ex-girlfriend Lydia Bright has revealed she's finally dating again after ditching Arg for good, in the wake of Gemma Collins' eye-watering revelation about his cheating.
