Blazin’ Squad to reunite when Marcel Somerville comes out of Love Island
BLAZIN’ Squad are set to reunite when Marcel Somerville comes out of Love Island, the Sun’s Bizarre column can reveal.
The noughties group have already received offers and are in talks with music labels and promoters to go on tour and release new material.
Love Island fans have been since member Marcel aka Rocky B, 31, entered the increasingly popular ITV2 show.
He shot to popularity quickly when he kept telling fellow islanders “I was in the Blazin’ Squad” with t-shirts made up with the slogan selling well.
And listens of the ten lads’ songs on Spotify have shot up by a whopping 2,500 per cent.
The Crossroads hitmakers currently have five appearance gigs from August to November but now Chris McKeckney aka Melo-D and Oliver Georgiou aka Freek reckon they will up it to a full tour.
Chris said: “If we can make it happen, then we will
“It has to be done in the right way but we're not against it.
"I think the first thing is, we've been doing a few shows, so to up that to a tour, if we were to do anything that would be the first point of call, see how that goes then who knows.
“Release new music wouldn't be off the table either.”
MORE FROM THE VILLA
The duo told the Sun’s Bizarre column the only issue stopping them from officially confirming a reunion is because of attempts to get all ten together.
They say the reunion may not be a full squad.
Oliver said: “There are talks and offers, but we have to wait and see about Marcel's time in the villa and have a chat.
“We've had record labels, we've had promoters and meetings with various people. There are a lot of diaries to consider, a lot of people to consider, it's not just two or three people, it's ten diaries to consider and it's been a long time since we've done it properly, so there are a lot of options to weigh up.
“That's the one thing – that’s the deciding factor.
“If it's something we can make happen and it works around everyone then we will.”
