LOVE Island is TV’s most glamorous show with its tanned and toned contestants locked away in a stunning villa – and now we’re taking a look behind the scenes to see what goes into making the magic happen.
The villa is tucked away in the hills of Sant Llorenc des Cardassar in Mallorca, and while for most of the year it's secluded, in June and July it's surrounded by a large amount of equipment to keep the show running.
Large blue shipping containers surround the site and stand next to black boxes filled with production equipment.
It takes a lot of hard work to make a show look so good and lining the outskirts of the luxury location are ladders and camera rigs to watch the Islanders’ every move, while other pictures show subtle black cameras strapped to trees in the garden.
Yards of wiring run along the outskirts of the pad while bikini-clad babes and musclebound hunks make up and break up for the cameras.
And while everything may look effortlessly pristine on TV, behind the scenes there's evidence of a lot of hard work, with wheelbarrows and skips filled with wood surrounding the pad.
Candid shots taken from outside the villa show the gang getting on with their day-to-day activities as they eat meals and casually wonder around the garden.
Wide angle shots of the set show just how secluded the cast and crew are with only a few houses dotted among the miles of fields and trees.
Despite the reality stars being cut off from friends and family during their time in the villa, they do have contact with crew who will often escort them to challenges and take them on trips to the outside world.
One behind-the-scenes snap shows Marcel and Camilla walking with one of the production team.
The villa comes with an infinity pool, super-sized hot tub and a luxury bathtub big enough for two.
The grounds also feature several outdoor beds where the lovers can lounge in the sun, and an outdoor kitchen.
MORE FROM THE VILLA
The girls have access to a beauty station packed with hairdryers and straighteners so they can look glam at all times.
A gym has also been installed so the more health-conscious members of the line-up can work out and keep their bodies buff.
It’s not clear if the villa will be up for sale when the contestants leave, but the second villa Casa Amor, where the lads went to stay earlier this month IS on the market.
However, it comes at a hefty price with the getaway home revealed to be worth £2.5million.
The four-bed Mallorca abode isn’t quite as extravagant as the main villa but does boast four bedrooms and five bathrooms – enough for anyone looking to party abroad with friends.
There’s also a 14 metre swimming pool and the lavish home even has a private vineyard – complete with lemon and orange trees.
The show is coming to an end on Monday and to make sure it goes out with a bang The Sun are throwing an exclusive viewing party for our readers – find all the details here.
