Love Island ‘fake’ Gabby Allen defended by ex-boyfriend who insists she’s a ‘genuine person’ amid backlash against her romance with Marcel Somerville
LOVE Island's Gabby Allen is not a "fake" who's pretending to have feelings for co-star Marcel Somerville, according to her ex-boyfriend.
Billy Mackie, who says being with Gabby was "one of the best relationships [he's] ever had", reckons she's being absolutely "genuine" - despite viewers' claims to the contrary after seeing the telly couple kiss.
But Billy did admit that he hadn't been watching the series as he thinks watching his ex would be "weird".
His defence of the Liverpudlian lass comes after bookies' odds on her winning the prize drifted significantly in the last week.
Billy said: "I haven't been watching it this year. I'm not going to spend my time watching my ex-girlfriend on TV.
"It would be a bit weird if I sat around watching her all day.
"But she's a very genuine girl. She's been herself in the house.
"A couple of people have said she's fake, but I am certain she's been truthful. I hope she wins. Gabby deserves it."

Asked what his romance of one year with Gabby was like, he added: "She's the sexiest girl I've ever met.
"I fancied her as soon as I saw her. She was very flirty and a really good-looking girl.
"We got on as soon as we met. She's got good chat and she's sexy overall. It was one of the best relationships I've ever had."
Gabby may have a good chance of winning because her show partner is so popular. Even Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has offered Marcel his support.
Last night's edition of Love Island saw Montana get emotional about how her relationship with her dad means she can't trust partner Alex.
Rapper Stormzy also appeared on the show and Camilla got very real about the sex acts she performed with Jamie.
