Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood beam as they’re reunited with their ‘baby’ Cash as they come third in the Love Island 2017 final
CHRIS Hughes and Olivia Attwood couldn't stop smiling as they were reunited with their 'son' after coming third on Love Island 2017.
The appeared stunned when their names were called during tonight’s tense final which saw Marcel Somerville and Gabby Allen voted out first.
Even Caroline Flack couldn’t hide her shock as she read out the result, which left Chris and Olivia looking glum.
Chris tried to put a brave face on the result but Olivia struggled to hide her disappointment.
Once they were sat down, she appeared to perk up however and laughed as they watched back over their best bits.
But their frowns were turned upside down when Caroline brought out their fake baby Cash Hughes.
Chris and Olivia beamed with delight when they saw him and the pair held him aloft as fans cheered.
During tonight’s episode, Chris described Olivia as one of the most beautiful girls he had ever seen before she admitted she’s changed because of him.
Chris said: “Olivia’s first impression will remain cemented in my soul as one of the most beautiful girls I’ve ever seen.
“Our journey is ending where another will begin, and to me you’re Snowy, if I was Tin Tin.
“Your cuddles in the morning and your kisses at night, but your freckles are one of my favourite sights.”
In reply, Olivia told him: “Chris, the girl that walked into this villa seven weeks ago is a very different girl to the one who’s walking out, and you are the reason for that.
“You’re cheeky, funny and the way you love me has brought out a softer side to me I hadn’t wanted to show in a very long time. Your beautiful face matches an equally beautiful soul.”
The couple had one of the most tumultuous relationships in Love Island history, with Oliva criticised for her treatment of Chris throughout the series.
Although they coupled up quickly, Mike Thalassitis stole her from him during his explosive entrance into the villa.
Olivia, 26, continued to see Chris behind his back and fans hoped the pair would stay together for good.
However part-way through the series they broke up, with Olivia being branded a “snake” for reducing him to tears.
She later admitted she wanted to get back with Mike when he came back into the villa.
Despite this, during the re-coupling she chose to stick with Chris and later explained why she’d treated him the way she had.
She explained in the Beach Hut: “My mouth has been getting me in trouble since the day I was born and yesterday my mouth caught up with me.
“Today, I am dusting myself off again and I’m fine… At the end of the day, me and Chris are emotionally built in totally different ways and we’re the definition of that couple that can’t live with each other and can’t live without each other and it’s not always pretty and we do clash heads…
Olivia went on to tell Chris she was madly in love with him, after seeing him bond with their “fake baby” Cash Hughes.
Speaking candidly to Chris, Olivia said: “I wanted you to know that even though you drive me crazy, when I look back on our time on the villa, I have put you through stuff. I’ve realised more than ever that.
“I am a massive product of my past and I have coping mechanisms and one of them is to be a b**ch and when I feel vulnerable, I will push everyone away.
“If I hadn’t come here and I hadn’t met you, I would not have realised that and I don’t honestly believe there’s any other boy that could have brought it out of me.
“I realise how much you put up with. You are insanely patient and that is the reason why I like you, one of many reasons. Apart from the fact you’re fit.”
And Olivia’s mother had kind advice for her daughter, telling her: “When you’re at your best together, you are having so much fun, but you’ve got these big personalities and you’ve got to allow each other to be yourself…”
Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies eventually walked away with the £50,000 prize.
Viewers looked on in shock as Caroline Flack announced a shock twist - meaning Essex hairdresser Kem could have stolen the money.
However he gave Amber her fairytale ending and admitted he would split the cash with her.
