Where is Top Of The Lake: China Girl set and filmed?
Unlike the first series of the drama, which was set in New Zealand, the second series has been moved to Australia.
Moss' character, Detective Robin Griffin, has returned to Sydney from her New Zealand home town to continue her work there.
When a large suitcase washes up on Bondi Beach, a hot spot for Aussie sunbathers, the beginning of a horrific mystery about a murdered sex worker begins.
The show was filmed on location in Sydney, and Robin is tasked with visiting many of its brothels and murky corners.
Campion herself says she snuck into real brothels in the city to hear the stories of its residents as research for the show.
In New South Wales, prostitution has been almost completely legalised and the programme paints an accurate portrait of this.
The stills that have been released suggest that the story will not be confined to Sydney.
One shows beautiful snowy mountains and a lake, suggesting the action may return to New Zealand or perhaps, as the title hints, to Asia.
It's also possible the story will delve back into Robin's own childhood in New Zealand as we know she suffered trauma in her youth.
What is Top of the Lake about?
Top of the Lake: China Girl is a crime mystery story that finds Detective Robin Griffin recently returned to Sydney and trying to rebuild her life.
When the body of an Asian girl washes up on Bondi Beach, there appears little hope of finding the killer, until Robin realises “China Girl” didn’t die alone.
Robin looks to the investigation to restore herself, but more problems arise as she reconnects with the daughter she gave up many years ago.
Meanwhile her search to discover the victim's identity will take her into the city’s darkest recesses - and closer than she could have imagined to the secrets of her own heart.
When is the next episode of Top of the Lake on BBC Two?
Top of the Lake: China Girl's next episode airs tonight (Thursday, August 31) at 9pm on BBC Two.
The episode will be available to watch on iPlayer soon after.
The series was in fact premiered during Cannes Film Festival in May 2017, so some lucky critics have already got to see the whole thing.
It is one of the only TV shows ever, along with Twin Peaks, to premiere at the prestigious film festival.
In the US it will premiere on Sundance Channel in September 2017. Each episode will be available on Hulu following its premiere the day prior.
