LOVE Island's resident agony uncle Marcel Somerville is putting his famous pearls of wisdom to good use by releasing an advice book.

Announcing his literary deal on Twitter, the singer said: "News!! I'm excited to announce I am releasing my own book in August with Blink Publishing, 'Dr Marcel's Little Book of Big Love' #LoveIsland."

Unsurprisingly, the 31-year-old's fans were thrilled by the news, saying they couldn't wait to hear his advice.

One wrote: "Can't wait for this book let's see what Doctor Marcel says xx."

Another joked: "If it doesn't say 'paging Doctor Marcel' in every corner I'm not buying."

Marcel better get writing as the book is due out on August 24 and has been described as "the perfect guide for men and women who are navigating the often overwhelming world of modern dating".

Its full title is 'Dr Marcel's Little Book of Big Love: The Guide to Finding Love the Lover Island Way'.

Marcel said: "I've always been the one my friends would go to for romantic advice, so being able to be a guru to the nation is an exciting prospect.

"Dr Marcel's Little Book of Big Love is gonna share all my knowledge and all the things I learned during my Love Island experience."

As the eldest islander at the villa, pop star Marcel was the one everybody turned to in times of a crisis and viewers watched him counsel the likes of Kem Cetinay, Camilla Thurlow and Sam Gowland through relationship dramas.

He was particularly close to Camilla - whom he called his "little sister" in the villa - and helped her through heartbreak when Jonny Mitchell ditched her to couple up with Tyla Carr.

As the island's resident love guru, it was only natural that Marcel would turn his talents to finding love himself.

He fell for Gabby Allen during their time in the villa and the couple exchanged 'I love yours' before eventually finishing in fourth place.

The pair had a pact not to have sex on TV - but gleefully informed The Sun Online that they'd done the deed following Monday night's finale.

Gabby said: "We had sex last night after the wrap party. We were in a villa with no cameras so we flip reversed it.

“It was amazing. It definitely lived up to expectations. I was glad I waited.

“I would rather have got out and it be absolutely banging than us be underneath the covers trying not to get caught.”

Marcel exclusively told us that he feared he'd made the "worst choice" of his life signing up for Love Island, after initially failing to couple up with anybody, but then Gabby arrived and changed everything.

“I was like, ‘What have you put yourself into, this is the worst choice of your life. What have you done to yourself? Then she came in and I thought ‘boom there she is'," he said.
