When is Old People's Home For Four Year Olds At Christmas on Channel 4?
Old People's Home For Four Year Olds At Christmas leads off form Channel 4's new documentary series from this summer.
It looks at what happens when you bring together residents of retirement homes and children below school age.
The festive edition continues with this theme, and focuses on the scenario with Christmas thrown into the mix.
The special will air tonight on Channel 4 at 9pm. It will then screen an hour later at 10pm on the 4 plus one before going online to view on All4.
What happens in the show?
The show sees a group of 11 pensioners from St Monica's retirement home attend school every day with a group of nursery children.
While the pensioners' lives are lonely and sedentary, with very little happening, the presence of the youngsters has an immediate effect on their well-being.
Some of the older people are more depressed than others, and are grieving for their lost partners, but the children turn out to be even more of a tonic for them.
The show looks at the full six weeks that the two different generational groups spend time together and sees how it affects them.
Filmed in Bristol, the show will end up with its own set of scientific results - as the older people will undergo tests to measure mood, memory and mobility during their time with the littl'uns.
This one-off special sees programme-makers wanted to highlight the plight of loneliness in the elderly at Christmas.
Professor Malcolm Johnson, who heads the team behind the project, said: “Christmas is a challenge and a threat for so many.”
The show sees the residents and their young friends laying on a carol concert and issuing invites to other people who may be spending Christmas alone.
