STRICTLY COME DANCE KING

The Saturdays’ Mollie King becomes latest celebrity to sign up for Strictly Come Dancing with BBC bosses hoping the singer will bring sex appeal

THE Saturdays’ star Mollie King will bring Saturday night glamour after signing for the new series of Strictly.

Bosses hope the 30-year-old singer adds the same sex appeal as model Daisy Lowe last year.

A show insider revealed: “Mollie is all signed up and will be this year’s Strictly babe.

“She’s a talented performer because of all her experience with The Saturdays and her solo career — so she’s someone who is very likely to make it to the final rounds.

“Producers loved the sex appeal and performance skills of Daisy last year and believe Mollie offers the same.

“She’s also very well connected and has a lot of celebrity friends who will attend filming each week.”

Mollie may also be looking for love on the show — and avoiding the Strictly curse.

She is single having previously dated supermodel David Gandy.

The London-born beauty is the second Saturdays star to go the BBC1 dance show.

Frankie Bridge was runner-up in 2014 — the year the band agreed to take a break from recording.

Mollie is signed to Island Records and a source said: “Her solo career is still very much a priority.

She is working on new music and will continue to release and perform alongside her Strictly commitments.”

The X Factor 2008 winner Alexandra Burke, 28, is also set to take to the dancefloor following a successful spell on the West End stage.

Robot Wars host Angela Scanlon, EastEnders’ Rita Simons and Bros popstar Matt Goss have also been linked to the show.

This year will be the first without retired head judge Len Goodman. He will be replaced by Latin ballroom champion Shirley Ballas.

Three new pro dancers will join the line-up — Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova and Amy Dowden.

They replace Joanne Clifton, a winner last with Ore Oduba, plus Oksana Platero and Natalie Lowe.
