Selena Gomez slams ex Justin Bieber, saying he made her feel ‘insecure’ in new interview
SELENA Gomez appears to take a swipe at her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber in her new interview with InStyle magazine.
The singer graces the cover of and features in a stylish shoot but the topic of conversation saw the star make a candid confession about what she has learnt from her past relationships.
She explained to "It's really important for me to… make sure that I never get influenced by a guy."
The 25-year-old then revealed the negative effect the relationship had on her as she continued: "I've wanted to be in a strong headspace for years, and I really wasn't.
"Before, I was so young and easily influenced, and I'd feel insecure."
Selena and Justin were first linked to each other in 2010 and were on and off for years until they finally called it quits in 2015.
Things seems to be looking up for Selena as she admitted she sees new boyfriend The Weeknd as her "best friend".
The Bad Liar singer has been dating the Can't Feel My Face hitmaker for almost a year and has learned the key to a strong relationship is not to expect a partner to "complete" her, but rather to "add" to her already-fulfilled life.
She told: "I don't depend on one area of my life to make me happy. It's really important for me to love and nourish my friends and family and to make sure that I never get influenced by a guy.
Selena added:"You want someone to add to your life, not to complete you, if that makes sense. I'm lucky because he's more of a best friend than anything else."

The year after saw Selena cancel her Revival world tour and undergo a 90-day stint in rehab.
Selena admitted taking a career break to focus on her health was the "best thing" she could've done.
The singer stepped away from the spotlight last year after suffering from "anxiety, panic attacks and depression" brought on by her lupus condition and though she was "scared" about going for treatment, she admitted taking a break made her come back ready to move forward and embrace her life again.
The Come and Get It hitmaker returned to the spotlight last November and she admitted it was "overwhelming".
But fans have been showing their support for the star as she is currently dominating the charts with her new single, Fetish.
