MURDER, She Wrote could be returning for one final episode, Dam Angela Lansbury has revealed.
The legendary actress – who played Jessica Fletcher in the long-running television drama – has said that she wouldn’t be surprised if she were to reprise the role again at age 91.
“I was in genuine tears doing my last scene,” she told .
“Jessica Fletcher has become so much a part of my life, it was difficult to come to terms with it being all over.
“Having said that, there have been some two-hour specials since we stopped in 1996 and I wouldn’t be surprised if we got together just one more time.”
The show spanned an incredible 12 years and had 264 episodes before it ended in 1996.
There were also four two-hour television movies which continued Jessica’s murderer-hunting activities in America and abroad.
“I was amazed at how successful it was,” she added.
“I never believed it would run for 12 years.
“I would not want to take anything away from Murder, She Wrote but when you are the principal in something like that you have to work incredibly hard to help keep it fresh.
“My life totally revolved around it. There was hardly any time off and certainly no time or energy for doing anything else.
“You can get trapped.”
