Cheryl pictured out in public for the first time since giving birth to Bear as she poses for pictures with fans at the US Embassy
CHERYL has been seen in public for the first time since becoming a mum five months ago, as she posed for pictures with fans at the US Embassy in London.
The former Girls Aloud star and X Factor judge, who gave birth to son Bear Grey Payne in March, looked beautiful as she cosied up with Miss Great Britain Ursula Carlton on Thursday morning.
Wearing dark sunglasses and a black coat, the pop star beamed with happiness as she flashed a smile for the camera.
Ursula captioned her photo: "Met this lovely lady this morning, the beautiful Cheryl."
She added a string of hashtags including "wish I wore make-up today" and "Miss GB and Cheryl Cole".
The beauty queen told fans she'd met Cheryl at the US Embassy, sparking speculation Chez is planning a trip to the US soon.
One Cheryl admirer tweeted: "Thanks for the pic, we haven't seen her in ages."
Another said: "Both look stunning!"
Cheryl's outing to the US Embassy came a week after she returned to the public eye with a behind-the-scenes picture taken at a new L'Oreal photoshoot.
The singer - who is a brand ambassador for L'Oreal - shared the snap to Instagram on August 1 alongside the simple caption: "Back to work."
Her post was liked by boyfriend Liam Payne and thousands more fans in just minutes.
Cheryl has kept a very low profile since she and Liam welcomed their first child on March 22.
While Liam was almost immediately out on the promo trail to promote his debut solo single, Strip That Down, Cheryl opted to remain hidden from the public eye and spend time with her son behind closed doors.
The last time Cheryl attended a public event was a Christmas charity carol concert in December.
While the star has not been seen in public before today, she has slowly been returning to social media, posting a handful of snaps over the last few months.
Her first post-baby selfie came on June 30 and was a heavily filtered picture showing Cheryl trying out the Snapchat bunny ears filter.
She posted it in honour of her 34th birthday and to thank fans for their well-wishes.
One week later she returned to Instagram to upload a snap of her and Liam on "date night".
Two days after that, the star was back on social media to show off her newly-blonde hair, while experimenting briefly with lighter locks.
However, she was back to brunette less than one month later for her recent L'Oreal photoshoot.
She shared the picture from the L'Oreal set on the same day her former Girls Aloud band mate Sarah Harding entered the Celebrity Big Brother house.
Boyfriend Liam was seen heading into the L'Oreal studio with a huge bunch of flowers to surprise his girlfriend on her first day back at work after maternity leave.
With Cheryl largely shunning the limelight since Bear's birth, it's been left to Liam to gush about life as new parents.
He's given dozens of anecdotes about Cheryl and Bear while on the road promoting his new music.
On numerous occasions fans have noted Liam has referred to Cheryl as his "wife", leading to widespread speculation the couple may have got married in secret.
However, Liam told People in July that wasn't the case but "maybe" one day in the future.
He added in an interview with JustMusic: "I have an incredible girlfriend, she's a great mum and I could not have been happier to have her as the mother of my child."
Cheryl, 34, and One Direction star Liam, 23, announced the birth of Bear on March 25, three days after he arrived.
They posted a photo to social media showing Liam cradling the newborn baby.
It's still the only image of Bear they've made available to the public.
Chez wrote alongside the snap: "On Wednesday 22nd March, Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy, weighing 7lb 9 and looking like a dream.
"Although he still doesn't have a name he is already stealing hearts.
"We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival.
"Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers around the world. A day that now has a different meaning to me forever."
