Alex Reid slams his marriage to Katie Price as the ‘prostitute years’ and says she’ll ‘do anything for money’
The CBB winner claims his ex-wife's nutrition business is a cynical money-making operation and says he's delighted to be out of the spotlight
ALEX Reid has slammed his marriage to Katie Price as the "prostitute years" and says his ex-wife will "do anything to make a buck".
The professional MMA fighter says he is going back to what he loves by reigniting his personal training business - and he's delighted to be leaving the showbiz spotlight behind.
Speaking about his marriage to Katie, 39, the former cagefighter said: "The celebrity world doesn't really make me money - it might do for Katie, but it's a pretty crappy life having to sell your soul to make a living. I call it the prostitute years and now it's self worth. I'm going back to what I love."
Alex won the hearts of the public in Celebrity Big Brother in 2010 and popped the question to new love, Nikki Manashe in 2013, while Katie continued with her reality TV career and is now with third husband Kieran Hayler.
This year saw her launch a protein shake range, Katie Price Nutrition, much to the surprise of her hunky ex.
Talking about the part fitness played in their former relationship Alex, 42, exclusively told us: "She wasn't interested, not really.
"She came (to the gym) a couple of times yeah.
"I just see it as a money-making opportunity - it's anything to make a buck."
And for Alex, who is happily engaged to actress Nikki, his love is training and he wants to hammer home the message that he is a "credible athlete and trainer with vast experience" - not just a celebrity ex.

This means clients from across the country - but usually based in London - can pen a profile to the trained fighter and ex-Gladiators star about what they want from a workout, and a price they are willing to pay him for it.
His fiancee of four years is also "madly into fitness" and Alex was first to tell The Sun Online a baby gym bunny could soon be on the cards, after Nikki's cancer scare left her fearing a child wasn't possible.
He told us pregnancy would come before a wedding and said: "We are trying for a baby first.
"That's the plan. We want a baby first, before we get married."
Nikki also plays a role sorting out Alex's potential admirers from the ones that are serious about shaping up, now his Bidvine requests are starting to flood in.
Alex candidly admitted he was keen to distance himself somewhat from the showbiz world and immerse himself in fitness.
Yet it wasn't so easy, with him frankly telling us he had to "swallow his pride" and re-learn the techniques to train others, because his high-profile status meant he felt they were "below him".
He revealed through "all the trials and tribulations of prolific relationships" - which he admitted included his time with mum-of-five Katie, his dedication to workouts had kept him strong both physically and mentally.
The London-based muscle man added: "All the celebrity crazy world aside, something I've always got and I can always stand by come rain and shine is my fitness career.
"I was a qualified personal trainer before I did all the celebrity stuff .
"I've had a lot of inner demons and battles the one thing that's kept me going through all of this is my training - it's the symbol that's held me together through the stress and pain.
"My tagline is health is the only wealth you need."
