TOWIE cast furious at Love Islanders ‘stealing’ their sponsored Instagram posts and fashion deals – and leaving them with no work
The Only Way Is Essex cast are furious with the Love Islanders – because they think they’re stealing all their work.
While the TOWIE cast used to make easy money through sponsored Instagram posts promoting products and fashion deals, now all the companies want to work with former Love Islanders – and the work is drying up for the Essex reality stars.
“The cast are furious – every time they see someone from Love Island promoting a product online, they know it’s a deal that would have gone to a TOWIE person in the past,” says our insider.
“They all think that the Love Islanders are charging lower fees and undercutting the TOWIE lot. It’s so frustrating for everyone.”
“Everyone knows they get paid to do posts by big online fashion companies, the charcoal face scrub, and the teeth whitening … but now, the Love Islanders have way more followers and they’re doing Instagram posts for cheaper,” says the Essex insider.
“So when it comes to renewing deals with the companies, they’re turning around and saying that they have Love Island cast members doing it for less money, so unless you lower your fee you won’t get the work.”
“They’re all having to drop their fees from £500 a post to £300 a post in order to get work."
"They’re fuming – they’ve been on TOWIE for so many series and now Love Island have come along, been on one series of a show, got way more followers and they’re stealing their business.”
The friend adds: “Some of the TOWIE girls are fuming that the likes of Olivia Attwood and Amber Davis have landed fashion campaigns when most of the TOWIE cast don’t have them, apart from Megan McKenna who has the Miss Pap deal and Lauren Pope who works with In The Style.”
“And the TOWIE boys couldn’t believe how much Kem Cetinay and Chris Hughes were being given to model for BooHooMan and Topshop. They’re fuming.”
In fact, our source says that the only place Love Islanders like Marcel Somerville and Dom Lever aren’t under-cutting the TOWIE cast is personal appearances in nightclubs.
“The Love Islanders are charging a lot more for PAs – some of them are earning four or five grand to turn up at clubs. No-one on TOWIE gets that much, so that’s an indication of how popular Love Island is.”
The Essex insider tells The Sun Online that the TOWIE cast is hoping that Love Island’s popularity will wear off.
“Everyone hopes that when TOWIE comes back on TV, they can put their prices up again, but everyone’s had to up their game now.”
