Charming Bruce Forsyth chats up Andrea McLean in his last TV interview on Loose Women
TV legend’s last televised interview was back in October 2015 and he was on fine form
BRUCE Forsyth’s final televised interview has been unearthed and the television icon was on top form.
His appearance on Loose Women in October 2015 had the audience in fits of laughter as he flirted with the show’s host Andrea McLean.
Bruce sadly passed away today surrounded by his family and friends. He was 89-years-old.
Andrea asked him, “Do you think anyone can dance? I’ve always been too frightened to do Strictly because I’ve got two left feet!”
Turning to look at her, Bruce smiled and said: “No, you’ve got a nice walk! I’ve watched you!”
Andrea started giggling as he added: “From behind I’ve watched you! You can always tell if a woman’s got rhythm by watching her behind!”
The audience burst out laughing and Andrea told him: “Well, as long as I’m walking I’ll be alright!”
Their discussion then turned to Bruce’s decision to leave the hit BBC One dancing show.
Asked if he would return to Strictly, Bruce replied: “Oh no. I’m going to do Children In Need because it’s a wonderful charity and then I’m going to do the Christmas special.”
As the audience cheered, he explained: “In a way, whoever leaves a show at the top?
“I did, but it was time for me to go. It took up all of my week.
“And when a show is so big as it is, the hardest thing is keeping it up there. You feel that pressure.”
Sadly Bruce was forced to pull out of the Christmas special due to bad health and he never returned to the show he loved.
He died surrounded by his family and friends today, with his agent confirming the sad news.
He said: “It is with great sadness that the Forsyth family announce that Sir Bruce passed away this afternoon, peacefully at his home surrounded by his wife Wilnelia and all his children.
“A couple of weeks ago, a friend visited him and asked him what he had been doing these last 18 months.
“With a twinkle in his eye, he responded 'I've been very, very busy... being ill!' The family would like to express their thanks to the many people who have sent cards and letters to Bruce wishing him well over his long illness and know that they will share in part, the great, great loss they feel.”
Tess, who started working with Bruce on the BBC dancing show in 2004, paid an emotional tribute to him.
She said in a statement: “There are no words to describe how heartbroken I am to be told the saddest news that my dear friend Sir Bruce Forsyth has passed away.
“From the moment we met, Bruce and I did nothing but laugh our way through a decade of working together on Strictly Come Dancing and I will never forget his generosity, his brilliant sense of humour and his drive to entertain the audiences he so loved.”
“He has been there for me as a co-host, a mentor but most importantly as a friend and I’m extremely fortunate to have worked alongside the man who defined Saturday Night Entertainment for so many decades.
“He was a gentleman and a true legend. I will miss him deeply. My heart goes out to Winnie his wife and his beautiful family at this sad time.”
Claudia Winkleman told her followers: “He was the King of TV, the Prince of performers and the most generous of people... all toe-tapping twinkle, all kindness, all love....
“The Bruce you saw really was the man he was. We'll miss him so much.”
