Pete Wicks takes adorable pug Eric to the Dogs Trust in Essex – after posting emotional tribute to former pet Ernest on Instagram
DOG lover Pete Wicks takes his cute pooch to a rescue centre for the day out - after sharing an emotional tribute to his old 'best friend'.
The Towie star was left devastated last year after the sudden death of his beloved French bulldog Ernest.
The Essex boy wrote on Instagram earlier: "It's every single day that Eric and I miss you.
"You will never stop being part of our lives. R.I.P Ernest. My best friend. Eric's big brother."
Him and his mutt were seen in Basildon at the Dogs Trust adoption centre.
A cause important to him, he wrote by the picture: "Always love popping into ...looking forward to all the exciting things coming up
The lad clearly has something up his designer sleeve as he recently posted a photo of him and Eric at a photoshoot.
He wrote alongside the pic: "Behind the scenes from a fun morning with Eric shooting for something close to my heart..."
Last August, Pete wrote a teary message to his lost dog.
He said: "Words can't describe how heartbroken I am to have suddenly lost one of the best things to have ever come in to my life.
"My boy Ernest wasn't just a dog to me, he was my best friend. Things will never be the same.
"I'm thankful to him for teaching me a lot about myself and everything about unconditional love.
"He will always be in my heart. R.I.P Ernest."
He said previously of his love for his dogs: "They’re more loyal [than humans]. If you treat them well, they don’t judge you.
"I talk to them like they’re my kids — it’s embarrassing!"
Pete has also been spotted filming the next series of the reality show The Only Way Is Essex with girlfriend Megan and were seen holding hands and kissing on location.
They were filming a party scene at the Sugarhut in Brentwood and the loved-up pair couldn't keep their hands off each other.
The TV beauty later took to Instagram to share one of the snaps, which showed her laughing as she held Pete's hand.
In a caption, Megan opened up about the revived romance and declared she is dating her best mate.
She wrote: "Ain't it nice when you have a best friend in a boyfriend."
