Where is Celebrity Island 2018 filmed? Pacific island location for the Channel 4 survival show starring Bear Grylls
CELEBRITY Island is back with a new batch of famous faces trying to get on with each other while surviving a gruelling series of challenges in an exotic location.
But where exactly is the Channel 4 show filmed? Here's what we know about the island...
Where is Celebrity Island filmed?
Ten celebrities find themselves dropped on a deserted island just off the coast of Panama, where the previous series was filmed.
The islands form part of an archipelago in the Pacific, with 200 islands named Las Perlas, or the Pearl Islands.
The biggest of the bunch is Isla del Rey but the cast are not sent to populated islands such as this, and instead are left on uninhabited ones to figure out how to survive.
What happens on Celebrity Island?
For four weeks, 10 celebrities have to survive in nothing but the clothes on their back, with just a few basic tools and medical supplies, plus 24 hours worth of water.
The cast face crocodile-infested swamps before seeking out the beach and electing a leader and planning the best way to survive together.
Unlike host Bear Grylls' other show, Mission Survive, which crowned a celebrity the winner after weekly vote offs, Celebrity Island is more about endurance and resilience with all the celebrities having to make it until the end.
When is Celebrity Island on TV?
Celebrity Island continues tonight at 9pm on Channel 4.
The latest installment follows the main version of the series which ended in April.
It is all in aid of Channel 4's Stand Up to Cancer campaign.
