Megan McKenna reveals she needed a proper break from Pete Wicks after ‘sexting scandal’ and admits taking time away from Towie helped them get back together
MEGAN McKenna has admitted she needed a proper break from Pete Wicks and Towie drama in order for the couple to truly rekindle their romance.
The pair's rollercoaster romance has been one of the central story lines for the ITVBe show and Megan admitted the duo got back together too soon after Pete's sexting scandal.
Megan stated: "Things with Pete are amazing. We are both loved-up and happy. We didn't see each other for a month when I was in Nashville but we FaceTimed every single day.
"Pete used to set an alarm at 4am so he could watch me perform live in bars."
She then added: "Last time we got back together too soon. But this time we had a proper break. "We also needed to get away from the camera to realise how good we are together."
Earlier in the week, Megan admitted she's worried about returning to Towie with Pete after their "nasty split" aired on the last series.
The 24-year-old appeared on Loose Women to promote her new show There's Something About Megan which sees her trying to make it as a country singer in Nashville.
The pair broke up earlier this year and spent some time apart before reuniting on a romantic trip to Las Vegas.
When asked if she was worried being on the show could turn things sour between them again, she said: "It is a worry, but we've started our relationship on a clean slate.
"But Pete is good, we're back on. I'm really happy with how things are."
She added: "As you might have seen we had a bit of a nasty break-up on the show but we've had three months apart before getting back together in Vegas and it's like a new relationship.
"But being in a relationship in the public eye is hard."
Megan recently hinted that her co-stars haven't been that supportive of her singing dream but she insisted that they're "not jealous" of her.
The brunette, who previously tried her hand at Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor, wowed the Loose Women audience with her rendition of Fields Of Gold.
She added: "Not everybody gets on but a lot of them are supportive.
"I think I'm the only singer on there but I don't think they've got to be jealous."
