Towie’s Megan McKenna is seen without lip fillers in home videos showing her looking almost unrecognisable as a child before finding fame on reality TV
MEGAN McKenna looks virtually unrecognisable in a series of home videos filmed when she was a child.
The star, now 24, can be seen belting out songs in scenes which aired during the opening sequence of There’s Something About Megan - looking a far cry from the Megan we know from Towie.
These days the Towie star is usually heavily made-up, with a very impressive pout – thanks to regular top ups of filler.
In her home video however she has her hair pulled off her face in a ponytail and she looks laid back in a hooded jumper - showing off her natural beauty.
The opening clips went down very well with her fans and one told her: “Love the home videos @Megan_Mckenna_ showed at the opening remind me of myself and my sisters when we were young 😂😭😭😭.”
While another commented: “@Megan_Mckenna_ I loved your old home videos at the beginning of #SomethingAboutMegan 🎤🎶.”
Meanwhile the show – which follows Megan as she tries to make it as a country music star – proved a huge hit with impressed fans.
During the first episode of There's Something About Megan, the reality star really showed off her vocal ability - as she performed in a local bar before singing with acclaimed songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman.
Fans couldn't believe how well Megan performed, especially considering she had bronchitis at the time, and took to Twitter to praise her.
One wrote: "@Megan_McKenna_ has actually got a lovely voice" while another added: "My God @Megan_McKenna_'s voice is insane".
A third wrote: "I'm so glad everyone is getting to see this side of Megan she just such a lovely girl I'm loving #TheresSomethigAboutMegan".
A fellow viewer agreed writing: "@Megan_Mckenna_ is coming across so well!! Refreshing to see a different side of her."
Megan's trip to America occurred over the summer and took Megan away from her Essex home for a month, just as she had reunited with on-off boyfriend and Towie co-star Pete Wicks.
In one scene, the couple FaceTimed each other, with Megan telling her boyfriend how her first performance had gone the previous evening.
Having had such a rollercoaster relationship over the last year, Megan explained to the camera what was going on, and how her trip away possibly hadn't come at the best time.
She said: "Everybody's thinking 'Oh God they're back on' but like I can't help it.
"The time apart... we've found our way back together.
"Now we're both back in each other's lives a month away from each other is... big."
However Pete made it clear how much he supported his girlfriend chasing her dream during the chat, asking about her performance and what Nashville was like.
Megan replied: "The key thing in Nashville is to get the audience to take to you, especially coz I'm not from here and everyone seemed to like me."
Pete cheekily replied: "They ain't too friendly though I hope, they know you've got a boyfriend though yeah?"
Giggling, Megan answered: "Yes!" before the pair told each other they loved and missed one another.
Pete was certainly proud of his girlfriend, taking to Twitter to share a sweet picture of them smiling at each other.
He wrote: "I couldn't be more proud of Megan for following her dreams and showing people the real Megan Mckenna. I'll always be your number 1 fan".
