Cheryl DID watch pal Sarah Harding on Celebrity Big Brother but found it tough to watch, says Paul Danan who spoke to her boyfriend Liam Payne
CHERYL did watch pal Sarah Harding on Celebrity Big Brother, according to star Paul Danan who spoke to her boyfriend Liam Payne.
But the former X Factor judge found it hard to watch because she “didn’t want to see her in that way” after the former Girls Aloud singer, 35, had numerous meltdowns before going on to win it.
Ex Hollyoaks star Paul told the Sun’s Bizarre column Liam, 23, and Cheryl, 33, who recently had a baby together, wanted him to win – as well as Liam Gallagher who is a huge CBB fan.
Speaking at the Retribution film premiere, Paul, 39, said: “Cheryl watched a little bit, he said. She didn't watch loads. She didn't watch it all. I did ask and she watched a little bit.
“But I suppose she didn't want to see Sarah in the way Sarah was, because it was heart breaking.
“To see someone very vulnerable and not in the best of shape and Big Brother can do that to someone - make them even worse.
"Should she have done the show? Yeah, she won it.”
Paul says he got chatting to former One Direction singer Liam at a recent gig of him and the pair had a chat.
The CBB contestant revealed Liam and Cheryl wanted him to win the Channel 5 show.
Paul said: “Liam so wanted me to win. And I'm sure Cheryl did too. He was awesome, so down to earth. It was just me and him having a chat by his car. It was great to have one-to-one chat.
“He walked out, I went and followed him out to say hello and he was there by his car and his bouncers were cool and he was like 'Paul Danan. What the f***?' I'd never met him before.
“It was the most amazing moment - I was so, so buzzing from it. To have a one-to-one ten minute chat just me and him it was awesome and he's a lovely guy.”
And the Strip That Down’s namesake Liam Gallagher was also a huge fan of ‘Dangerous’ Danan and watched every single episode of the summer series.
Paul told the Sun he also had a chat with the ex Oasis frontman at Reading Festival.
He said: “I went to Reading Festival and Liam came off stage, no one can go near him and suddenly he dropped his coat and went 'Paul Danan you're f*****g incredible. I love you. I've watched every episode, you should've won'.
“And I spent an hour with him backstage just chatting with him about everything. He said to me 'this is our time. it's a comeback for both of us'.
“For him it's a comeback from being in different bands and that just being Liam and he really, really loved me and represented and had my back and was so complimentary.
“I was so happy with these type of people that are proud of me and supporting me.”
