MEGAN McKenna and Pete Wicks have hit back at claims they faked their break-up for TV show ratings.
The Towie stars are back together in the new series of the show, and they have now addressed speculation that their split this year was "scripted" for a story line.
Megan appeared on This Morning today to talk about her budding music career, and she was joined by her boyfriend Pete.
During the chat, they addressed rumours that they have been faking their relationship dramas to make their reality TV show more interesting.
Pete said: "There's no script. It's constructed reality so it's real, but you get put in situations you wouldn't normally be in."
Megan added: "All the arguments are real, all the break-ups are real, it's really stressful."
The TV star-turned-singer also revealed that since their reunion, fans of the show have started coming up to the couple in the street and questioning whether their their romance is fake.
Megan insisted the relationship is 100 per cent genuine.
She added: "People think it's an acting job, but it's really our lives."
Megan also spoke about her budding music career after documenting her quest to become a country music star in There's Something About Megan.

The Towie star's track has now outsold Taylor Swift, Pink and Dua Lipa following its release on Tuesday,
and she said she was excited about the news she'd hit number one on iTunes.
Megan said: "The last two days I’ve been number 1 and 2 on iTunes.
"I’m so excited and yesterday I actually shot my first ever music interview.
"It’s crazy. It’s going to be so cool. The new video is out next week!"
Megan and Pete's relationship crumbled earlier in the year after Pete was caught sexting former fling Jacqui Ryland.
He sent a series of x-rated messages to model Jacqui while on holiday with his girlfriend.
Megan struggled to get over the betrayal and it caused some ferocious rows between the pair.

One of their nasty rows was caught on camera as Towie production staff had to pull their pair apart as the argument turned vicious.
They eventually split and Pete admitted they were trying to be civil to each other despite the break-up.
Pete said: “We didn't split up because we didn't care about each other, let's have that right but no, we're not together now. We’re friends and we are civil but we have split up.”
But fans were delighted when The Sun Online revealed back in April that Megan and Pete were back together just days after filming ended on Towie.
In June, proof emerged that the pair were giving the romance another shot when they were pictured together on a romantic break in Las Vegas.
They later went public with their newly-revived romance and they are set to lift the lid on their love in the new season of Towie, which airs next week.
