Coleen Rooney urges Wayne to request a period of ‘sympathetic leave’ so the family can get away in a bid to sort out marriage woes
FUMING Coleen Rooney wants husband Wayne to request a period of “sympathetic leave” to work on their marriage.
She has asked him to speak to Everton boss Ronald Koeman so they can get away as a family.
It follows 31-year-old Wayne’s drink-drive arrest in a party girl’s VW.
Wayne, 31 — who only rejoined the Merseyside outfit from Manchester United this summer — could miss a series of first-team games if any request was approved.
Pregnant Coleen is still fuming after the striker’s drink-drive arrest at the wheel of party girl Laura Simpson’s VW Beetle.
But she now believes his claims that Laura, 29, was a “chancer” who preyed on him — and will give him a final chance for the sake of their three young sons and unborn baby.
A pal said: “Coleen wants them to get away as a family.
She thinks it’s important to get away from the area and try and spend some time together — him, her and the kids.
“In the midst of it all they haven’t been able to do that and, to work through their problems, she feels they need to get away.
“She has asked him to speak to his manager Ronald Koeman about having some ‘sympathetic’ leave, but she doesn’t know if he’ll get it.

"There’s another international break next month, so he might have to wait until then.
“He’s in the wrong headspace to play and the pressure is showing.
"If Wayne wants to save his marriage, it’s time to put the football in second place.”
