X Factor star Kevin Davy White slams his appearance on The Voice – saying Simon Cowell’s show is better for aspiring musicians

X FACTOR star Kevin Davy White has revealed he found the show's auditions gave hopefuls more of a chance to show off their talent than The Voice.

The handsome Frenchman wowed the judges and viewers last weekend with his rendition of the classic James Brown track Man's World for his X Factor audition.

But the 29-year-old musician can under fire from some fans after revealing he had appeared on the French version of The Voice last year.

But he failed to progress on the show after the judges didn't turn for his performance of the King's Of Leon track Use Somebody.

Speaking about the audition, Kevin explained: "I sing in a different way for that kind of TV show.

"They wanted me to show all of my range but I love to sing the song as good as I can. So not to show all of my range, I sang the way I wanted to."

He added: "They were expecting me to go really high but the song didn’t need it so I didn’t do it. That frustrated them and I understand that."

The star admitted that was one of the reason's why he chose to audition for The X Factor instead as he said: "The X Factor is not just about the voice. It’s about having the whole package.

He added: "I am looking forward to adapting songs to fit my style. Obviously soul, rock, blues and jazz are my thing but if someone gave me a pop song or a disco song then I will adapt it and sing it my own way."

The talented guitarist admitted: "I am already so happy with what I’ve done on The X Factor. I would love to win, of course.  My goal would be to sign and get a record deal and play everywhere in the world."

Speaking about his audition, he explained: "My audition was really intense. I was nervous to get up there but I had to do my job.

"I didn’t expect to get four yeses from the judges. I just wanted to get up there and show them what I could do. I was really surprised to get such good feedback from the judges."

As for the feedback he received this weekend, the humble hopeful revealed: "And it was so amazing to get so many messages of support from the public as well. I would love to thank them all individually but I just had to send a thank you tweet to them all.

"It has been so amazing. I was burning having to keep it a secret from everyone. I’m so happy my audition has been shown on TV now. I was watching the episode with my girlfriend at home."

The full-time musician from Paris has been living in London for the past year with his girlfriend and is a regular performer on the London music scene.

The talented guitarist has also  featured on France Bleu radio while his self-penned songs are inspired by soul pioneers Ray Charles and James Brown.
