Great British Bake Off fans shocked at show’s filthiest innuendo-filled episode yet as Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith discuss the best ‘finger treatments’
BAKE Off viewers were left stunned tonight by a series of saucy innuendos about 'finger treatments' and 'wonky balls'.
Bread Week certainly gave both the contestants and judges the chance to work on their puns, as well as their buns.
During the technical challenge set by Paul, which saw the bakers having to make a cottage loaf, Paul and Prue revealed themselves to be king and queen of the innuendo.
The two layered buns proved to be a big challenge to the bakers, with Paul explaining: "It's all about making both balls quite tight.
"The way that we do that and the way I do it is to drive my finger right the way through to the tray underneath."
Not to be outdone, Prue cheekily asked: "Do you flour your finger?"
Covering his face and laughing, Paul replied: "I could oil it".
Viewers took to Twitter in their droves, with one writing: "#innuendo The @PrueLeith @PaulHollywood convo re flouring/oiling one's finger even shocked me."
Another tweeted: "Did Paul honestly just offer to oil his finger" while a third added: "I'm so childish I can't stop sniggering at the finger and bread innuendos on #GBBO".
Others noticed how the show had taken things to a new level from its original 'soggy bottom days', with one tweeting: "Lot of finger action on the #bakeoff tonight! You can tell it's on Channel 4 now".
A fellow viewer added: "@PrueLeith to @PaulHollywood: Do you flour your finger? Ooh, fnarr! You wouldn't have got that from Mary Berry. Long live #Prue!"
But when it came to testing the bakes at the end of the technical, Prue upped things again, at one point saying: "This didn't get the finger treatment at all."
SOGGY BOTTOM BANTER The most hilarious Great British Bake Off innuendos EVER – from soggy bottoms to grabbing jugs
Viewers were lapping up the cheeky banter, with one writing: "This weeks lesson - never forget the finger treatment!!" while another added: "'This didn't get the finger treatment at all' alright Prue".
A third wrote: "All I've heard is 'finger...push...Paul...finger...rise" is this really #GBBO".
The contestants also got in on the action, with Liam telling the camera: "You don't want wonky balls".
But Stacey took it to a whole other level, while explaining her technique, saying: "What Paul does is he sticks his fingers in the flour and then he goes down like that, two fingers.
"Up and down like that, I just know how Paul does it."
A viewer tweeted: "Stacey's filthy fingers steal the technical. We've reached peak bake off with that explicit dough poke".
Meanwhile viewers were also treated to a visual innuendo as Julia's snail bread sculpture gave Paul a fit of the giggles as it looked more like a willy.
But she was left with a slightly more phallic-looking creation.
Judge Paul, 51, struggled to speak and had to compose himself after catching a glance of the self-taught baker’s efforts.
He told Julia: “I like the snail” before falling apart.
New co-host Sandi Toksvig, 59, then asked him: “Is there something about the shape of the snail in particular?”
It didn't stop the 21-year-old from being crowned star baker though, while Flo, 71, became the third person to leave the tent.
