Sam Smith looks totally different as he launches pop comeback in LA – after revealing the secret to his weight loss

SAM Smith looked a shadow of his former self as he played a secret gig in LA last night.

The 25-year-old is currently in the midst of a pop comeback but it’s not just new music he’s been showing off – it’s also his new physique.

Looking very stylish as he headed to The Troubadour, Sam wore a white shirt featuring a feather print on it and black trousers.

His hair, which was previously styled in a quiff, was shaved close to his head accentuating his handsome facial structure.

The Stay With Me hitmaker previously credited nutritional therapist Amelia Freer for his weight loss, after losing a stone in 14 days by ditching cheese and booze, amongst over things.

While he has not revealed the full extent of his impressive weight loss, it’s thought he’s shed three stone in total.

Back in April 2015, he posted an image holding her book on Instagram, alongside the caption: “Amelia Freer has helped me lose over a stone in two weeks and has completely transformed my relationship with food.

“Everyone go check out her incredible book, and start to live healthy.

“It’s not even about weight loss it’s about feeling happy in yourself.

“Love you Amelia & thank you for making me feel so happy inside and out.”

And speaking at the Grammy Awards last year, he said: "I've just not eaten like a pig anymore – that's what I'm doing.

"It's very very difficult. I love food so much so it's a constant battle. It's always going to be a battle but I'm trying my best."

Meanwhile Sam has said he "shows more of himself" on his new album than his last – the hugely successful In The Lonely Hour released in 2014.

He explained: "I feel rawer in it. I feel like I'm actually showing more of myself.

"In The Lonely Hour is like a gin & tonic with your friends, and this album is like a whiskey, late night, by yourself."
