MEL B has revealed her late father gave her the “clarity and strength” to divorce her husband Stephen Belafonte.
The former Spice Girls star, 42, filed documents to end her ten-year marriage to Stephen, also 42, in March, 16 days after her dad’s death, having only reconciled with her family months before.
In an emotional Instagram post, she wrote: “In the midst of all my raw emotions and pain of his passing he gave me the clarity and strength to set my life on the right track and I’m so thankful of this awakening.
“From March 4th when he died I now live in my truth to correct with no shame, the life every girl/daddy’s girl should live, and that’s a life with no fear or disrespect, but a life with ONLY love and respect and honesty.
“Dad, I love you but I would give anything just to talk to you one last time just so you no how much I truly love you.”
Mel, who has daughters Madison, six, Angel, ten, and Phoenix, 18, is currently fighting a bitter legal battle to end their marriage.
