Love Island champ Kem Cetinay reveals his romance with Amber Davies ‘hasn’t been easy’ and they are far from the ‘perfect couple’
LOVE Island champ Kem Cetinay has revealed his relationship with Amber Davies “hasn’t been easy” and they are far from the “perfect couple.”
The reality hunk, 21, admits he was “shocked” at Jess Shears and Dom Lever’s engagement – and says the most he has planned with his girlfriend is to take her away to Center Parcs.
He won the dating series with Amber this summer – and the loved-up pair have since taken over the Good Morning Britain sofas and launched their own clothing ranges.
But Kem admits that it hasn’t always been smooth-sailing for the couple and the stress of being in the spotlight can often take its toll.
In an exclusive interview with The Sun’s Bizarre column, he said: “When Love Island finished there was so much pressure and then trying to juggle a relationship – it hasn’t been easy.
“We aren’t perfect all the time but we do talk about things; we communicate with each other.
“It is hard with the media. I am a really sensitive person. People are going to have opinions and it is hard. I try to walk away from it.
“Not everyone is going to like me – not everyone is going to think we’re the perfect couple, we know we’re not.”
Kem, who’s helped Pizza Hut restaurants to relaunch with a brand new look, told The Sun he was ready to marry Amber when the couple first left the villa in July.
But now that Jess and Dom have announced their engagement after just three months of knowing each other – the star has changed his tune and says he’s in no rush to walk down the aisle.
He said: “I was shocked when I heard they were engaged. Amber text me and I was like ‘oh okay.’
“They genuinely do really like each other. Some people will say it is too soon but only they will know.
“I’m not going to be asking Amber to marry me yet but I am taking her away on a surprise holiday.
“I want to take her to Center Parcs for Christmas – what do you think? They have quad bikes and zip wires – it’ll be fun.”

He has been on the road doing PAs and filming for his upcoming two-part series Straight Outta Love Island – and Kem reveals that he has lost his six-pack as a result of his hectic work schedule.
Talking about his post-Love Island body, he said: “I’m scared to have my top off.
“I’ve had too many pizzas recently and I have been travelling a lot – not going home and having my mum’s cooking.”
And Kem has confirmed that rapper Stormzy will make a cameo appearance in the ITV2 spin-off show that will follow him and Chris Hughes on their musical journey.
He said: “Chris and I are such amateurs. I want to give people what they want to hear.
"We have been in the studio and we are learning and talking to Stormzy.
“He’s definitely going to be in the show.”
