When is Escape on Channel 4 and what's the show about?

Escape continues with episode five TONIGHT, Sunday, November 5 at 7pm on Channel 4.

A group of five engineers are left stranded in the desert with the wreckage from a simulated plane crash.

Using the surrounding wreckage, contestants have to build a vehicle such as an air-board, hovercraft or car, to escape to civilisation.

The five one-hour episodes put the team of four in a different terrain — desert, snow, jungle or on water.

The team consists of an aerobatic pilot, a traditional craftsman, an aerospace engineer and two mechanical engineers.

They must complete their task without access to a workshop and using improvised tools - while food and water are in short supply.

They must generate their own power and make their own shelter before escaping. Ant will provide insight into the physical and mental strains they are enduring.

It is hoped the show will emulate the success of hit US drama Lost, which tracked a group of air-crash survivors, and Channel 4 game show Scrapheap Challenge, in which teams built machines from junk.
