Jimmy will regain some form of his former life, as part of a family of wealth, power and status when he teams up with some wealthy incomers, much to the chagrin of the other villagers.

Producer Iain MacLeod told The Sun Online: "Yeah, he gets mixed up with some new arrivals in a way that makes him very unpopular with the village, and will possibly re-involve him with a kind of precinct that he was once involved with before.

"It occurred to us that Jimmy was part of this very high status family and then they all died, and now I think in his own mind and secretly a little bit in Nicola’s mind, he feels like a bit of a loser.

"We just thought it’s interesting to compare him to the more successful dear departed members of his family, and see what impact that has on his psychology.

"I’m being necessarily a bit cryptic but it’s about him trying to get back to what he thinks Tom would have wanted."

It seems as if Jimmy's resurgence will tie into the exit of the White family.

The current inhabitants of Home Farm - Lawrence White, his daughter Rebecca and his grandson Lachlan and his mother Chrissie - will, with the exception of Rebecca, be departing the village one way or another.

But while it seems as if Robert is about to commit his second murder - after killing ex Katie - with his plot to steal to White's company and poison Lawrence, their exit will see Robert actually help them.

Producer Iain teased their exit telling The Sun Online: "It emerges from what Robert’s doing at the moment on screen.

"It’ll be big and dramatic and hopefully quite surprising and a bit out of the blue.

"It’s part of an ultimate redemption story for Robert, where he kind of feels like he’s hit rock bottom in terms of all the dastardly things he’s done over the years, and determines to start trying to live a bit differently and deal with things a bit differently."

With the vacuum opening at Home Farm, the Sun Online previously revealed how a new super-rich brash heir seems likely to take over as the lord of the manor.

Multi-millionaire Tom Waterhouse - who is played by former EastEnders star Ned Porteous - was recently introduced as a foil for Debbie Dingle, alongside his butler-cum-assistant Graham.

The pair are set to move into the village and remain for the long-term.

Iain previously told The Sun Online: "I will say Tom and Graham are long-term characters. As well as interest between Tom and Debbie we have big plans for Graham as well.

"There is a really interesting 12-month direction, romantically speaking, for him. Potential there is scope to introduce other characters around them further down the line."
