Hollywood icon Kate, 41, talked to TV host Lorraine Kelly on today's Lorraine about Titanic's 20 year anniversary and giggled: "I can believe it, I have been living with it for 20 years!

Talking of her on-screen chemistry with Wolf Of Wall Street actor Leo, she said: "It was seven months of very intense work and we were very young.

"Luckily, we never fancied each other - that's really annoying to hear, I know.

"But that was very fortunate.

"We were just able to tease each other - it was really amazing."

She added her daughter and daughter's friends continued to recite the lines back to her, many of which she had long forgotten.

Yet in her latest role, Kate again faces an icy chill when she is plunged into the glacier-filled pools in the Canadian Rockies.

The conditions might have been familiar - after Kate was forced to brave chilly waves while fighting for survival in Titanic - yet this time around, she didn't emerge unscathed.

Kate's latest film role sees her star alongside Idris Elba in gritty adventure movie, The Mountain Between Us.

The blockbuster, set for release on Friday, October 6, tells the story of two strangers left stranded after a plane crash, and relying on each other for survival.

Kate, who plays photojournalist Alex, explained how the frosty climate and gruelling terrain sapped her energy and confessed "moving at pace burned your chest."

Her sheer tiredness in between-takes meant she slept like a baby for more than 10 hours but pretending to have a limp has taken its toll and given her crippling arthritis - in her toe.

She pleaded to the camera and said: "Please don't zoom in close on my feet!

"My character Alex, one of the injuries she has her leg smashed to pieces so I'm limping the whole film.

"I was loading all of my weight into my right leg and limping throughout.

"The wear and the tear meant I have arthritis in my right toe."

Fitness fan Kate added: "I now have to do yoga in trainers.

"People look at me and think it's weird, but never mind."
