Darren Day strips to his underwear on Loose Women as he reveals body confidence issues following weight gain and reveals he suffers from ‘sleep eating’ – just like Robbie Williams
The actor, 49, revealed he’s been having fat freezing treatments to battle his weight gain and says he’s been bonding with Robbie over their bizarre night habits
DARREN Day stripped on Loose Women today after revealing his struggle with body confidence issues.
The 49-year-old stepped out in front of the live studio audience in just a pair of black swimming shorts to show his body which he says he says he no longer feels confidence with.
Darren came out to a rapturous applause but admitted he felt “vulnerable” standing so scantily clad on live TV.
And despite being told how great he was looking by the Loose Women panellists he made sure he put a dressing gown on before sitting down on his stool.
Earlier in the show a fully dressed Darren spoke about his body insecurities after paparazzi shots emerged of him on the beach looking larger and “with a bit of a tummy”.
He said: “[The pictures] were a kick up the behind.”
Darren added that he then joined a boot camp and has started some non-invasive, non-surgical weight loss treatment
He explained: “They freeze the fat cells. You drink loads and loads of water after the procedure and apparently you flush them out.
“What they try and do is get your fat cells to rush to your lymph nodes and it flushes out and never, ever comes back to the area.”
“Rob and I have become good buddies over the last year or so and we’ve had some comical conversations, and we sent each other a list of the things we’ve devoured during the night.
“It’s like sleepwalking.
“I stayed in a hotel last week, I saw all this chocolate, I’m dieting, I’m trying to look good and I knew I was doing this show, so resisted it all.
“Then in the morning when I woke up there was a trail of wrappers and crumbs between my bed and the minibar.
“I used to clean the minibar out in a different way, now it’s just the chocolate.
“It’s not funny when you go through it, you have that discipline to diet during the day, and then you go to bed…”
In July Robbie opened up about battling nocturnal sleep-related eating disorder (NS-RED) for more than a year, making him gain weight in the process.
Speaking on his new vlog, Vloggie, he said: "I'm doing this weird thing, it's very weird and it has been over a year now, where I night eat.
"Absolutely asleep and I get up and go and eat.
"I didn't know I was doing it for a long time.
"I don't do it on purpose, I am not aware that I am doing it, but it happens.
"Apparently in my sleep I don't want kale, I want sugar and loads of it.
"It’s been super weird, as you can imagine, so that leaves me not a lot of room for [eating] bad stuff during the day because bad stuff happens while I sleep."
