Lauren Goodger in talks to appear on series four of Celebs Go Dating to try to move on from jailed ex Joey Morrisson
FORMER Towie star Lauren Goodger is returning to reality TV – and is in talks to appear on the next series of Celebs Go Dating.
She’ll follow fellow cast members James ‘Arg’ Argent and Ferne McCann onto the E4 show in an effort to move on from ex-boyfriend, jailed Joey Morrisson, who she split with in July this year.
“Lauren’s been for meetings at the production company that makes the show – they’re really keen to sign her up,” a source tells The Sun Online exclusively.
“She makes great TV, she’s really popular, and she’s been unlucky in love so far.
“Everyone would love to see Lauren get set up with someone special – she’s had such bad luck with men in the past, the dating agency could really help her out.”
The show’s dating expert, Eden Blackman, recently confirmed that the show – where famous faces get set up with ‘normal’ people in an effort to find love – has been recommissioned for a fourth series, and will be on TV next year.
Lauren has been single since splitting up with boyfriend of 15 months, Joey Morrisson. They broke up after a massive row when Lauren visited him in HMP Highpoint South – where he’s been in jail for drugs offences since 2008.
Before the break-up, Lauren claimed she wanted to settle down with Joey, saying: “I want to get married and have children. I want a beautiful household with lots of love and affection. I want to have quite a few children, four [or] as many as I can.”
But the relationship broke down after a series of rows, with Lauren later saying that Joey’s release date getting moved back put extra pressure on them.
Lauren’s no stranger to finding love on TV – she got engaged to former fiancé Mark Wright on Towie when he went down on one knee in a car park.
Celebs Go Dating does have a good track record when it comes to setting up celebs – but mainly because they keep falling for each other.
Last series, Celebs Go Dating saw Frankie Cocozza and Charlotte Dawson choose to date each other instead of their assigned dates – and in series one, Stephanie Pratt and Joey Essex hooked up, despite it being against the rules.
