Daisy Lowe hits back at claims she is ‘more than just friends’ with Louise Redknapp and reveals she finds ‘lesbian’ rumours ‘hilarious’
DAISY Lowe has hit back at claims she is more than just friends with Louise Redknapp.
The 28-year-old found herself at the centre of the 42-year-old singer’s split from footballer Jamie earlier this year but has now laughed off the suggestion they were enjoying a lesbian romance.
Speaking in her new podcast Femme, she said: “I'm aware of all the lesbian hints. It actually makes me laugh.”
She went on to question why people struggled to understand their friendship, saying: “People find it strange we are friends. Why? She's an amazing, warm, honest woman. I'm proud of her. This is what women should do, support each other.”
Interestingly, Daisy reveals that it was in fact Louise who was a shoulder for her to cry on and not the other way round – as reports had suggested.
“On the first day of Strictly rehearsals, Louise was in my dressing room chatting and I got a call telling me my grandfather had died,” she added.
“I went to the bathroom and sobbed. Louise was lovely. From then on she looked out for me.”
In the candid podcast, Daisy went on to describe Louise as her 'best friend' - admitting that while they might not have known each other for long, Louise had 'changed her life'.

"I don’t use best friend often especially with someone I’ve only known for a year but Louise Redknapp completely changed my life and the two of us became these kind of wonderful confidence boosters for one another," she said.
"I would never in a million years have the confidence to set up my own business, my own company, my own podcast if it wasn’t for the incredible nurture of one of my best friends (Louise).
"We’re like each other’s cheerleaders."
Daisy added that Louise was busy "doing cabaret... that plus her music career, and being a mum" but would maybe appear on the podcast in the future.
She said: "She so kindly and considerately said: ‘Please my love go and enjoy and when I’m ready I’ll come on. I’ve got shivers thinking about it.'"
Last week, Daisy discussed Louise's split with footballer husband Jamie Redknapp during an appearance on Lorraine.
She said: "She a gorgeous woman, I love you!
"A lot of us rallied around her. I was so shocked.
"She is so much fun and we saw that come alive in Strictly - it was beautiful to see her blossom that way."
Louise recently revealed she had she opted to split with her footballer ex after Daisy convinced her she was still sexy.
In a heartfelt interview, Louise confirmed how the BBC show made her drastically rethink her life, forcing her and Jamie to live apart — as we reported in June.
It was perhaps the most startling case of the Strictly curse in its 13-year history.
