X Factor fans OUTRAGED about Sam Black returning to judges houses over Benji Matthews to replace disgraced Anthony Russell
Viewers flocked to social media in a fury at Sam returning to the competition despite not taking part in the brutal six chair challenge competition and have called for Benji Matthews to return too
A show insider told The Sun: “Contestants are closely monitored by the production team. They were alarmed by how erratic he was during filming and decided to confront him.
“He admitted he was a drug user and a decision was quickly taken to remove him.
“It’s a shame, as he was hotly tipped to make the live shows.”
Viewers saw Anthony impress the judges enough on the Six Chair Challenge to win a place at the Judges Houses - but this has now been given to Sam.
Louis Walsh, who's mentoring the boys this year, told : "Anthony has been fantastic across the series, a great singer and performer who we are really sad to see go.
"I had to think for a long time who could take the place.
"Sam had a great reaction from the British public when his audition aired. So I re-watched it and realised we missed a trick not putting him through at Boot Camp.
"He has that retro 60s style viewers will love. He's really likeable and talented and I can’t wait to hear more."
Unfortunately for Louis, the decision to bring back Sam and not Benji Matthews, who took part in the six chair challenge has enraged viewers.
"Erm why did Sam Black, who didn't even get through to the 6 chairs, get picked over Benji, who nailed the 6 chair challenge?!" asked one viewer.
Another asked: "What logic does Louis Walsh have, Sam didn't even get to six chair!! F*** that! Bring back Benji!"
