Strictly Come Dancing’s Aston Merrygold insists lothario ways and being offered sex ‘five times a day’ are over as he focuses on pregnant girlfriend
STRICTLY's Aston Merrygold insists his lothario days are over now he's set to become a dad for the first time.
The former JLS singer revealed his girlfriend Sarah Richards is pregnant with their first child in September, just before he started on the BBC One dancing show.
Aston cannot wait to become a dad and have his own little family, which is a world away from his boy band days when he was offered sex up to five times a day.
Asked by if those days were well and truly behind him, Aston said: "Of course those days are over. I am nicely into a five-year relationship and have a baby on the way. It is all good."
The 29-year-old went on to reveal how he is juggling his hectic training schedule with professional partner Janette Manrara and supporting Sarah in the latter stages of her pregnancy.
He said: "At the moment I am not getting much sleep as there is not much room in the bed.
“I’m trying to juggle Strictly and just trying to keep my girlfriend happy.
"It is fine but these are going to be the last moments really this year of just me and her as the baby is due in January.”
Aston has been impressing the Strictly Come Dancing judges and viewers with his routines so far in the competition, and he's hoping he can make it all the way to the final and lift the glitterball trophy.
Winning or making it to the latter stages of the competition means he would get invited on the Strictly tour, which takes place in the first few months of the year - just as his baby arrives.
He said: "If you get further in the competition, then you do get asked to do the tour.
"I just have to keep working hard. Yeah we could take the baby on tour, but we don’t even know if it is a boy yet."
