X Factor’s Matt Linnen reveals he’s got three kids with two different mothers – but won’t talk about them on the show to win votes
X FACTOR hunk Matt Linnen has revealed he has three children with two different women, which he kept quiet about throughout the audition process.
The 28-year-old plasterer from Southend’s children are eight, six and four-years-old, and he pledges to keep them out of the public eye.
He told The MailOnline: “I have a supportive family, but my children don't really know about what's going on.
“Although they've had their teachers at school making comments to them about it.
“My music isn’t to do with my kids, really. I’ve seen it as a separate thing. I’m in the public eye, not them.”
And while Matt, who is not in a relationship with either of his kid's mothers, says he’s doing the show for a better life for his family, he won’t be “using” them in order to win votes.
He added: “I do worry that people think.”
However he doesn’t mind the fact that his good looks could potentially earn him a few more phone votes.
He said: “It’s flattering – it's nice.
“It's a little hard to take; but if it gets me votes then I’ll take that.”
Matt is in Nicole Scherzinger’s Overs category and learnt that he had sailed through to the live shows during Saturday’s episode, following his cover of Rozalla’s Everybody’s Free.
It’d been a rocky road to the finals for Matt who revealed he’s recently been laid off from his plastering firm during the weeks since starting his X Factor journey.
