X Factor’s Holly Tandy reveals terrifying car crash left her feeling out of control and having nightmares

X FACTOR contestant Holly Tandy may have made the live shows but it's good fortune that's well overdue - after she opened up about a hellish 2017 health scare and car accident that left her feeling "out of control".

Aged just 15, Holly has wowed the judges consistently - but now she says an astonishing ten infections related to a kidney problem left her looking like a "skeleton" just months ago.

Barnsley native Holly, who only got on to this series when the age minimum was lowered, is joining Rai-Elle Williams and Grace Davies as the final Girl category members.

But earlier in 2017, before mentor Sharon Osbourne made her cry with happiness on telly, she was crying with misery at her incredibly bad luck.

The car accident with her old boyfriend was particularly shocking - with the car flipping on to its side, sliding through oncoming traffic and crashing - and Holly says it left her having "nightmares".

Explaining about her "really tough" experiences, she explained to OK!: "I was approaching my GCSEs, I had limited friends and I felt very lonely.

"Then I got a kidney infection and I had a run of about ten infections in a month. I was quite poorly
for a while and I lost a lot of weight. Then I was in a car accident."

Commenting on the impact of the crash she said: "I got a really bad back... but it was more the mental effect.

"After that I lost my confidence. I felt out of control and I began having nightmares."

"If you had met me four months ago, I wasn’t the same girl. I was a little skeleton.

"When I auditioned in June I’d just got well again. I really do feel like I deserve to be here," she concluded.

Holly, who says The X Factor has now provided her year's "highest" point, took her emotional grandfather to her first audition on the programme.

Her performance of Alicia Keys' If I Ain't Got You was a huge hit and she hasn't looked back since despite her young age.
