Towie’s Lauren Pope and Jon Clark HAVE split – because he doesn’t think he’s good enough for her
JON Clark and Lauren Pope have split up - because he doesn't think he's good enough for her, The Sun Online can exclusively reveal.
The Towie stars have had their ups and down over the past few months since they got together while filming in Marbella.
But after a tumultuous few weeks the pair have called time on their brief romance.
They recently rowed over Lauren's friendship with her ex-boyfriend Mario Falcone and even broke things off for a time after she discovered Jon was still texting his ex Chloe Crowhurst.
Despite getting back on track for a while and Jon has broken up with Lauren because he doesn't think he deserves her.
A source exclusively told The Sun Online: "Everyone keeps saying to Jon that Lauren could do better, they can’t believe she’s dating him.
"Everyone always tells him he’s so lucky and he’s really intimidated by the situation.
"He’s trying really hard to change, but doesn’t feel like he’s good enough for her.
SHUUUT UP! You won’t believe how much the Towie girls have changed since the reality show first hit our TV screens
"It’s a running joke on the show that he’s punching [above his weight] massively by dating Lauren and that’s really got inside his head.
"He knows she wants to settle down and I’m not sure if that’s what he wants either – he loves partying."
The insider added that Lauren is "really upset that Jon feels this way" after previously admitting the pair "like each other a lot".
Meanwhile Jon is "totally gutted" that their relationship is over.
Their split comes after Jon accused Towie bosses at attempting to "ruin" his relationship with Lauren because "drama and tears" are better for ratings.
He told the Star: "I understand Lauren and my happiness is at the bottom of the list for what the Towie team want.
"They obviously want the drama and tears but I've said so long as we are a team and stick together we will be OK.
"There's a few people like Mario who are against us as well, they need to keep their mouths shut.
"I don't see why they need to get involved. I don't like how Mario has been.
"He needs to f**k off now and realise Lauren's nothing to do with him."
The Sun Online contacted both Jon and Lauren's reps but neither wished to comment.
